In Restomo the technician opens the job in the browser they are already signed into, taps record and walks the room with the phone. The video uploads, an engine reconstructs the room from the frames, and a drafting sheet with dimensions files itself onto the job. No LiDAR phone, no 360 camera, no tripod and no app to install.
The walk
An arrow driven by the compass and a cross projected onto the camera view show where the phone should be aimed next, and a ring of eight views fills as each direction is captured. It never goes back down when the technician looks at something twice.
The upload
A fifty second lap is about thirty three megabytes. What uploaded is read back out of storage and compared byte for byte against what was sent, because a file that lands empty and files itself silently is worse than one that fails loudly.
The reconstruction
Fourteen to eighteen frames are picked along the walk and run through a vision model with 1.26 billion parameters. The geometry is aligned, scaled and closed, and the plan is filed back onto the job. The engine sleeps between videos and is woken by the app when one lands, so an idle scanner costs nothing.
What comes back
A drafting sheet: a mitred wall band, a one foot grid, dimension lines along every wall with extension lines and ticks, overall width and depth, door leaves with their swings, three line windows, a title block, a five foot scale bar and a north arrow. It exports as SVG, DXF, JSON and XML. Xactimate Sketch imports the DXF as a trace underlay, so the estimator draws over a plan taken from the real room instead of measuring it again from photographs. Restomo does not write an ESX file and does not claim to.
What it does not do
It takes about two minutes on good Wi-Fi and five to eight minutes on the engine or on a phone signal. It is not instant, because nothing can start until the walk ends. When the walls do not close, the plan is filed as an approximate footprint, the drawing is dashed and the status line says so in plain words rather than presenting a guess as a measurement. Any plan can be corrected inside the app by walking the walls and typing the lengths, or calibrated from a single taped wall, with undo and redo the whole way through.
What it costs
Every scan is included in the $500 a month price, with no pack to buy and no per plan fee. The published per scan and per plan prices of the tools it replaces are on the pricing chart.
